Diane Zapata is an activist and advocate for human rights and migrant justice, currently serving as Vice Chairperson of Migrante BC in British Columbia, Canada.
Despite being a newcomer to Canada, Diane has played an active role in strengthening Migrante BC and led campaigns and activities supporting the rights and welfare of Filipino migrants. She also volunteers for Damayan Society for Migrant Education and Resources (Damayan BC), assisting vulnerable migrant workers with their issues through case work, legal support, network referrals, and educational workshops.
Her advocacy is deeply rooted in solidarity with the working class and migrant communities.
She is the wife of former political prisoner Dennise Velasco.
